Sydney For The Weekend - Day Two

After the previous night's festivities, I had needed a bit of a sleep in, then lazed around until midday. My friend (ST) and I decided on Hurricane's Grill in Darling Harbour for lunch. There was a short wait, but we were happy to sit at the bar with a couple of ciders. We ordered a full rack of ribs and a salad to share. Do you know how freak'n hard it is to eat ribs and look classy at the same time?!! Pretty much impossible. ST was eating hers with a knife and fork! haha. The food was okay, not amazing... but the spectacular view of Darling Harbour made up for this.

After a lazy lunch, ST and I meandered down to the shops for a little retail therapy. Wait, let me rephrase that. ST did a little retail therapy, while I waited outside the mall listening to the buskers perform. While I was waiting, a complete stranger approached me and the (awkward) conversation went a little something like this...

Stranger: Hello
Me: Hi
Stranger: Taking pictures?
Me: Yes
Stranger: Are you a tourist?
Me: Uh yeah...
Stranger: Where are you from?
Me: (He was probably waiting for me to say Japan or China) Melbourne...

Luckily ST came out at that moment and saved me from further awkward conversation. Wait... is it conversation if I am only giving one word answers? Felt more like being questioned. BTW, I've never had the desire to walk up to a complete stranger to have a chat. What compels people to do this? WHAT!?

That evening we headed to Café Sopra at Fratelli Fresh. As soon as you enter the establishment, devine aromas of rich simmering ragus and freshly baking pizzas envelop you. ST and I shared; Cantelope with prosciutto and mozzarella; Lamb ragu with rigatoni; Fish stew; Banoffee tart; and a lovely Pinot Nero. The staff were really nice and friendly!

After dinner we walked down to Opera Bar for dranks. Okay, A drink. We're not alcoholics :) The beats were pretty dope and the performer was really engaging/entertaining. Speaking of entertaining... there was this one dude who was busting out all sorts of crazy dance moves and I was watching him the entire time! He was the epitome of the saying "dance like nobody is watching", and to be honest I was a little envious that he was having more fun than me. Yup I had fun-envy.
