Insieme

RT had tickets to see Before Midnight at the Como on Friday evening, so we had dinner at Insieme beforehand, as it is conveniently located within the same building complex.

This Italian inspired eatery is furnished in simple yet tasteful décor. We had a lovely two person table by the window so we could watch the happenings of Chapel St outside.

Our waiter was a very charming and attentive individual. Like always, we kinda took awhile to order, but our waiter thankfully was very patient with us.

We started off with a Rocket, pear and parmesan salad to share. Nice and simple. The pears were poached in something, but we couldn't figure out what... We guessed perhaps a red wine?

For mains, RT got the Risotto with soft shell crab. It was a very generous portion as far as risottos go, it would definitely scare me if it was placed in front of me. To be honest, I'm not an advocate of soft shell crab. When I eat crab, I want to be able to taste the crab and not fried batter. The dish was still good though.

I chose the fish of the day, which happened to be Barramundi with a medley of roasted vegetables. Again the portion was quite generous, but luckily RT helped me to finish it. The fish was cooked nicely, fresh and still moist and the vegetables were fine, with the exception of the zucchini, which was overcooked and mushy. The only way I like zucchini is lightly grilled.

Overall a satisfactory dining experience.
